Many people lead sedentary lifestyles, perhaps driving for a job or sitting at a desk all day, and it’s important to remember to move and be active as much as possible; the benefits to keeping fit and active are huge.
Ensuring you get regular exercise will make your whole system work better and you will improve your energy levels. It won’t be such a struggle to get out of bed in a morning and you will be better able to deal with life and any issues that arise.
Exercise reduces stress
Exercise helps reduce stress (read more on this matter in this article on The Effects of Stress on Physical Activity and Exercise) and allows you to see things more clearly. Often when exercising problems can work themselves out and after just a few sessions of exercise you start to enjoy it!
There are many ways to exercise for free. These include:
• Walking
• Running
• Workouts
• Cycling
• Stair climbing
• Team games outdoors
• Home exercises
• Skipping
• Outdoor park gyms
During lockdown many people have found themselves working from home, or perhaps isolating for days at a time. It’s important to take regular breaks from your computer, but also to do some strength and core work. You can do the stairs over and over, lift weights or try some skipping.
