As a personal trainer I speak to lots of people who say they just don’t have time for regular exercise sessions. I tell them they do, and that exercise can be short and sharp and still be effective.
You don’t have to exercise for hours to feel the benefit. A 15-minute workout can be highly effective if you really can’t afford any more time.
Too many people beat themselves up about not doing enough exercise, but a small amount of exercise is better than none at all, and it’s important to start somewhere.
So, if you have a busy schedule, you need to rid yourself of any ideas of going to the gym every day. Instead see what you can realistically fit into your day. Perhaps a lunchtime walk; you can even have a business meeting on the phone while walking. Or, perhaps you can exercise as you move around your home.
It’s important to be kind to yourself when it comes to exercise, but also to remember how beneficial exercise is and the many ways it can improve your health and well-being.
As we move towards summer, the days are generally warmer and longer, and it’s a great time to get outdoors and feel the sun on your face. Start off with short walks perhaps and build up over the coming months.
